Aṣṭāvakra’s Visit to Kubera: Hospitality, Temptation, and the Ethics of Restraint (अष्टावक्र-वैश्रवणोपाख्यानम्)
वैशम्पायन उवाच एतान्यत्यदभुतान्येव कर्माण्यथ महात्मन:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | etāny atyadbhutāny eva karmāṇy atha mahātmanaḥ, yudhiṣṭhiraṃ dharmanidhiṃ puruhūtam iveśvaraḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「ジャナメージャヤ王よ。仙人たちの口から、大いなる魂をもつマハーデーヴァの、まことに驚異の行いを聞いたとき、パーンドゥの子ユディシュティラ――ダルマの宝蔵――は深い驚嘆に満たされた。すると、賢者の中の第一であるシュリー・クリシュナは、あたかも主ヴィシュヌが、しばしば祈り呼ばれる神々の王インドラに語りかけるように、ユディシュティラに言葉を授け、畏敬と崇敬と洞察によって正しき行いの理解をいっそう明らかにした。」
