मार्कण्डेयान्मया प्राप्तो नियमेन जनार्दन । तवाप्यहममित्रघ्न स्तवं दद्यां हविश्रुतम्
Mārkaṇḍeyān mayā prāpto niyamena Janārdana | tavāpy aham amitraghna stavaṃ dadyāṃ haviśrutam ||
風神ヴァーユは言った。「おおジャナールダナよ、厳しい戒律の修行によって、わたしはマールカṇḍेयからこれを得た。そなたにもまた、敵を討つ者よ、この讃歌を授けよう——祭祀に捧げられる供物（ハヴィス）のごとく、名高く称えられる讃歌を。」
