Shloka 4

यद्यन्मुण्चति गात्र हि स शान्तनुसुतस्तदा । तत्‌ तद्‌ विशल्यं भवति योगयुक्तस्य तस्य वै,प्रभो! उस समय वहाँ एकत्र हुए सभी संत-महात्माओंके बीच एक बड़े आश्वर्यकी घटना घटी। व्यास आदि सब महर्षियोंने देखा कि योगयुक्त हुए शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मके प्राण उनके जिस-जिस अंगको त्यागकर ऊपर उठते थे, उस-उस अंगके बाण अपने-आप निकल जाते और उनका घाव भर जाता था

yadyan muñcati gātra hi sa śāntanusutas tadā | tat tad viśalyaṁ bhavati yogayuktasya tasya vai ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。シャンタヌの子(ビ―シュマ)がヨーガに結ばれ、プラーナを一肢また一肢から引き退かせるたび、その肢はたちまち矢を失った。矢柄は自ずから抜け落ち、傷は閉じた。
