samāśvasihi bhadre tvaṃ mā śucaḥ śubhadarśane
The verse models dharmic counsel in moments of sorrow: one should steady the mind, accept what has occurred, and move from grief toward composure and right action. Compassionate speech is presented as an ethical duty when addressing the afflicted.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, reports a consoling address to a woman in distress, urging her to be reassured and to stop grieving. The line functions as a brief, direct reassurance within the larger Anuśāsana discourse.
