sameta pārthivaṃ kṣatraṃ kāśipuryā svayaṃvare

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。カーシーで催されたスヴァヤンヴァラ（自择婚）の場には、王族のクシャトリヤがことごとく集っていた――それは、政の力、血統、そして婚姻選択の倫理が、国中の前で公然と試される競い合いであることを示していた。
