Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: evam uktvā kurūn sarvān bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavas tadā | tṛṣṇīṁ babhūva kauravyaḥ sa muhūrtam arindama ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。かくしてクル族のすべてに語り終えると、シャンタヌの子ビーシュマは沈黙した。おお、敵を屈する者よ、そのカウラヴァはしばし静かに横たわった—その沈黙は、最後の訓戒の重みと、旅立ちの時が厳かに迫ることを示していた。
