तस्माद्‌ दद्यान्न याचेत पूजयेद्‌ धार्मिकानपि । सुभाषी प्रियकृच्छान्त: सर्वसत्त्वाविहिंसक:

Transliteration

tasmād dadyān na yāceta pūjayed dhārmikān api | subhāṣī priyakṛc chāntaḥ sarvasattvā-vihiṃsakaḥ ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「ゆえに、自ら施して他に乞うてはならぬ。法に生きる者を敬い、よき言葉を語り、万有のために善をなし、心を静め、いかなる生きものも害してはならない。」
