यास्य घोरतमा मूर्तिर्जगत्‌ संहरते तथा । ईश्वरत्वान्महत्त्वाच्च महेश्वर इति स्मृत:

yāsya ghoratamā mūrtir jagat saṃharate tathā | īśvaratvān mahattvācca maheśvara iti smṛtaḥ ||

ヴァーユは言った。「彼の最も恐るべき相は、世界の解体(滅尽)をもたらす。至上の主権と偉大さを具えるがゆえに、彼は『マヘーシュヴァラ』(大いなる主)という名で記憶される。」
