Upamanyur uvāca: etān dattvā varān devo vandyamānaḥ surabhiḥ | stūyamānaś ca vibudhais tatraivāntaradhīyata ||
Divine grace is obtained through rightful reverence and praise, but the divine is not bound to remain visible; after granting blessings, the Lord may withdraw, emphasizing transcendence and the need for sustained faith rather than dependence on outward signs.
Upamanyu narrates that Mahādeva, after granting the requested boons, is honored by Surabhi and praised by the gods, and then disappears on the spot—marking the completion of the boon-giving encounter.
