अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यह तुष्टि, यह सिद्धि, यह श्रुति, यह स्मृति, भक्तोंकी यह अध्यात्मगति तथा ज्ञानी पुरुषोंकी यह अक्षय प्राप्ति (पुनरावृत्तिरहित मोक्षलाभ) आप ही हैं ।।
yā tuṣṭiḥ yā siddhiḥ yā śrutiḥ yā smṛtiḥ bhaktānām iyam adhyātmagatiḥ tathā jñānināṃ iyam akṣayaprāptiḥ (punarāvṛttirahitaḥ mokṣalābhaḥ) tvam eva asi || yajatāṃ kāmayānānāṃ mūrkhaiḥ vipuladakṣiṇaiḥ | yā gatiḥ yajñaśīlānāṃ sā gatiḥ tvam na saṃśayaḥ ||
ヴァーユ神は言った。あなたこそがその満足であり、その成就である。あなたはシュルティ（聞かれた啓示）の権威であり、スムリティ（記憶された伝承）の力である。あなたは信愛の者たちの霊的到達点であり、智者の不滅の獲得—再び還らぬ解脱—である。欲を抱いて供犠を行い、豊かな布施を伴う祭祀を修する者であっても、供犠に励む者が到るいかなる「果」も、疑いなくそれはあなたにほかならない。
