Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)
सुदुस्तरार्थतत्त्वस्य वक्ता कर्ता च माधव: । तव पार्थ जय: कृत्स्नस्तव कीर्तिस्तथातुला
sudustarārthatattvasya vaktā kartā ca mādhavaḥ | tava pārtha jayaḥ kṛtsnas tava kīrtis tathātulā ||
ビーシュマは言った。「マーダヴァこそ、意味を渡り難い深奥の真理を説き明かし、またそれを成就する者である。おおパールタよ、そなたの完全なる勝利と比類なき名声は、彼に依り頼んだがゆえに得られた。教えは明白だ。人の努力は、不可思議なる守護者にして至上の帰趣たるナーラーヤナへの帰依に根ざすとき、最上の果を結ぶ。」
