Śiva-darśana through Tapas and Stuti
evam astv iti tad-vākyaṁ mayoktaḥ prāha śaṅkaraḥ | tato māṁ jagato mātā dhāriṇī sarva-pāvanī …
The verse highlights divine confirmation (“evam astu”) and the role of the world-mother as sustainer and purifier, suggesting that blessings and outcomes unfold within a dharmic, divinely supervised moral order.
After the speaker’s words, Śaṅkara (Śiva) grants assent. Then Umā, described as the Mother of the world and all-purifying, begins to speak, leading into the account of a boon involving Kṛṣṇa receiving a son named Sāmba.
