Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets
yato yataḥ sā sudatī mām upādhāvad antike | tatas tato mukhaṁ cāru mama devi vinirgatam ||
The verse highlights the compelling, almost supernatural power of presence and attention: as the lady moves around him, his ‘lovely face’ is said to appear in the corresponding direction, suggesting an experience of wonder and the mind’s responsiveness to an auspicious or captivating figure.
Bhishma describes a scene in which a beautiful lady approaches and circles near him; wherever she turns, his face seems to manifest toward that side, as though following her movement in every direction.
