bhīṣma uvāca | tilottamā nāma purā brahmaṇā yoṣiduttamā | tilaṁ tilaṁ samuddhṛtya ratnānāṁ nirmitā śubhā ||

ビーシュマは言った。「いにしえ、ブラフマーは比類なき卓越の女を創り、ティロत्तマーと名づけた。あらゆる宝玉から最上の精髄を『一粒一粒』掬い集めるかのようにして、彼女の吉祥なる肢体を形づくったゆえ、彼女はティロत्तマーの名で知られるようになった。」
