Śatarudrīya-prabhāva and Rudra’s Supremacy (शतरुद्रीयप्रभावः)
जनश्न विमना: सर्वो5भवत् त्राससमन्वित: । निमीलिते भूतपतौ नष्टसूर्य इवाभवत्
janaḥ sa vimanaḥ sarvo 'bhavat trāsasamanvitaḥ | nimīlite bhūtapatau naṣṭasūrya ivābhavat ||
ナーラダは語った。すると人々は皆うなだれ、恐怖が彼らを襲った。万有の主が眼を閉じたとき、世界はまるで太陽そのものが失われたかのようであった――畏れと、守護する秩序の喪失から生じた闇に沈んだのである。
नारद उवाच
The verse underscores how the presence of a righteous, protective power sustains confidence and order; when that guardianship is withdrawn, society falls into fear and disorientation—like a world without the sun.
Nārada describes a moment when Bhūtapati (Śiva) closes his eyes; the people become dejected and terrified, and the world appears as if sunlight has disappeared.
