Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
तमस: परम ज्योतिस्तपस्तद्वृत्तिनां परम् य॑ ज्ञात्वा नानुशोचन्ति वरं तस्माद् वृणीमहे
tamasāḥ paraṃ jyotis tapaḥ tadvṛttināṃ param | yaṃ jñātvā nānuśocanti varaṃ tasmād vṛṇīmahe ||
釈迦羅（インドラ）は言った。「彼は闇を超えた至上の光、苦行に励む者にとっての最高の苦行である。彼を知った賢者は、もはや嘆かない。ゆえに我らは、その主シヴァにこそ恩寵を乞い願う。」
