Viṣṇu-sahasranāma—Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry and Bhīṣma’s Recitation (विष्णोर्नामसहस्रम्)
अहन्यहनि यो दद्यात् कपिलां द्वादशी: समा: । मासि मासि च सत्रेण यो यजेत सदा नर:
bhīṣma uvāca | ahany ahani yo dadyāt kapilāṁ dvādaśīḥ samāḥ | māsi māsi ca satreṇa yo yajeta sadā naraḥ |
ビーシュマは言った。「たとえ人が十二年のあいだ日ごとに褐色の牝牛を一頭ずつ施し、また月ごとに途切れることなく祭祀の会を営み続けたとしても、その功徳は、奉仕によって客人を真に満ち足りさせた者の得る果報に及ばない。」
