नित्याभिवाद्या विप्रेन्द्रा भुक्त्वा पादौ तथात्मन: । तेषां तुष्यामि मर्त्यानां यश्षक्रे च बलिं हरेत्
bhīṣma uvāca | nityābhivādyā viprendrā bhuktvā pādau tathātmanaḥ | teṣāṃ tuṣyāmi martyānāṃ yaḥ śakre ca baliṃ haret |
ビーシュマは言った。「最上のバラモンには、日々、恭しく礼拝して挨拶すべきである。食後には自らの足にも心を配り—よく洗い清めよ。我は、そのような節度ある敬虔の心をもって、シャクラ（インドラ）に相応のバリ（供献）を捧げる人間たちを喜ぶ。」
