Dāna–Tapaḥ Praśaṃsā and Gṛhastha-Upadeśa
Maitreya
iti śrīmahābhārate anuśāsanaparvaṇi dānadharmaparvaṇi kīṭopākhyāne ekonaviṁśatyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it frames the surrounding instruction within dāna-dharma (the ethics of giving) and signals the completion of the chapter in the Kīṭopākhyāna context.
Bhīṣma’s discourse is being formally segmented: the text announces that the chapter has concluded and identifies its placement—Anuśāsana Parva, within the dāna-dharma section, in the ‘Tale of the Insect’ episode.
