Educational Q&A

A person of steady wisdom and disciplined conduct is said to attain an enduring heavenly state—symbolized by feeding on nectar—and to dwell in Brahmaloka for as long as the cosmic order (the courses of sun and moon) continues.

Bhishma, instructing on dharma and its fruits, describes the exalted posthumous reward of a virtuous, self-possessed man: he roams in Brahmaloka, sustained by divine nectar, for a vast span measured by the movement of the sun and moon.
