अवलोक्यो न चादर्शो मलिनो बुद्धिमत्तरै: । न चाज्ञातां स्त्रियं गच्छेद् गर्भिणीं वा कदाचन
Transliteration
avalokyo na cādarśo malino buddhimattaraiḥ | na cājñātāṃ striyaṃ gacched garbhiṇīṃ vā kadācana ||
Translation
ビーシュマは慎み深き作法を説く。真に賢き者は、汚れた鏡に己が顔を映してはならず、また見知らぬ女—まして身重の女—に近づいてはならぬ。これは節制と清浄を守り、道義の混乱や世間の疑い、害を招く場を避けよという戒めである。
