Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

नारुन्तुदः स्यान्न नृशंसवादी न हीनत: परमभ्याददीत । ययास्य वाचा पर उद्विजेत नतां वदेद्‌ रुशतीं पापलोक्याम्‌

Transliteration

nāruṃtudaḥ syān na nṛśaṃsavādī na hīnataḥ param abhyādadīta | yayāsya vācā para udvijeta na tāṃ vaded ruśatīṃ pāpalokyām ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「他者の心を傷つける者となってはならず、残酷な言葉を口にしてはならない。人を貶めて自らが勝ろうとしてはならぬ。人を動揺させ不安に陥れる言葉は荒く、語る者を罪ある者の界へと導く。ゆえに、そのような言葉は決して語ってはならない。」
