Gārhasthya-dharma: Vāsudeva–Pṛthivī-saṃvāda
Householder Duties and Daily Offerings
manuṣyebhya iti prāhur baliṃ dvāri gṛhasya vai | marudbhyo daivatebhyaś ca baliṃ antargṛhe haret ||
Household dharma distinguishes the proper place and recipient of offerings: humans are honored at the threshold through outward hospitality, while deities such as the Maruts are worshiped within the home through inward, regulated ritual.
Vāyu is giving prescriptive instruction about domestic ritual practice—where to place bali offerings for different recipients—clarifying traditional rules for a householder’s daily religious and ethical conduct.
