ततो भीष्म॑ शांतनवं विदुरं च महामतिम्‌ | द्रोणं च बाह्विकं चैव सोमदत्तं च कौरवम्‌

tato bhīṣmaṃ śāṃtanavaṃ viduraṃ ca mahāmatim | droṇaṃ ca bāhvikaṃ caiva somadattaṃ ca kauravam ||

そのときユディシュティラは、シャーンタヌの子ビーシュマと、至高の知恵を備えたヴィドゥラのもとへ進み、さらにドローナ、バーリーカ、そしてクル族のソーマダッタにも会いに行った。ついで、敬うべき長老たちや大臣、苦行に富むバラモン、家付きの祭司、町の人々—そして名高き王妃ガーンダーリー—にも面会し、彼らに礼を尽くしたのち、沈んだ謙虚な身ぶりで、ゆるやかに言葉を発した。
