अपि चाह ं पुरा विप्रैर्वर्जितो गर्हितो वसे । परोपसेवां पापिष्ठां न च कुर्या धनेप्सया

Transliteration

api cāhaṃ purā viprair varjito garhito vase | paropasevāṃ pāpiṣṭhāṃ na ca kuryā dhanepsayā ||

Translation

そしてわたしもまた、かつてはバラモンたちに避けられ、非難されながら暮らしたことがある。富を求めるがために、最も罪深い行い—卑しく他人に隷属して仕えること—を、わたしは決してしない。
