धृतराष्ट्र–दुर्योधन संवादः

निवेद्य शिरसा भूमौ पादौ चैवाभ्यवादयत् । ततस्तं सर्वमुत्सृूज्य वनं जिगमिषुं तदा
nivedya śirasā bhūmau pādau caivābhyavādayat | tatas taṃ sarvam utsṛjya vanaṃ jigamiṣuṃ tadā ||
彼は頭を地に伏せ、（長老たちの）足にしかと礼拝して挨拶した。ついで一切の世の縁と取り計らいを投げ捨て、その時すでに森へ赴かんと志して旅立った――それは謙抑と敬虔、そして節制の生へと身を転ずる決意を示す。
