तत्र संसक्तमनसो भरद्वाजस्य धीमतः । ततोअस्य रेतश्नस्कन्द तदृषिद्रोण आदधे,परम बुद्धिमान्‌ भरद्वाजजीका मन उस अप्सरामें आसक्त हुआ; इससे उनका वीर्य स्खलित हो गया। ऋषिने उस वीर्यको द्रोण (यज्ञकलश)-में रख दिया

tatra saṃsaktamanaso bharadvājasya dhīmataḥ | tato 'sya retaḥ skannam tad ṛṣir droṇe 'dadhāt ||

ヴァイシャṃパーヤナは語った。そこにて、智あるバラドヴァージャの心は天女に深く絡みついた。そのため精が漏れ、聖仙はそれを慎重にドローナ(droṇa)—祭儀の器—に納めた。この段は、欲望が苦行者をも試しうること、そして規律ある抑制と意図ある行為が、過ちをも定められた帰結へと転じうることを示している。
