ऽध्यायः सूत उवाच / वासुदेवं गुरुं नत्वा गणं शम्भुं सरस्वतीम् / मात्रावर्णप्रभेदेन च्छन्दो वक्ष्ये ऽल्पबुद्धये
'dhyāyaḥ sūta uvāca / vāsudevaṃ guruṃ natvā gaṇaṃ śambhuṃ sarasvatīm / mātrāvarṇaprabhedena cchando vakṣye 'lpabuddhaye
スータは言った。至上の師ヴァースデーヴァに、またガナ(ガネーシャ)、シャンブ(シヴァ)、サラスヴァティーに礼拝して、私は mātrā(拍・量)と varṇa(音節音)の差別によって、理解の浅い者のために韻律学(chandas)を説こう。
