Lord Vishnu (in instruction to Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Discerning causes (indigestion/pariṇāma) and applying targeted remedies; knowledge of the body as a field of causes and effects.
Vedantic Theme: Pragmatic viveka in embodied life: recognizing causal chains and correcting them without confusion.
Application: For colic, urinary pain, gulma/splenic discomfort linked to indigestion, prioritize deepana-pachana measures and address root digestive dysfunction.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.193.9-13 (cluster on agni, shula, kasa, jvara, virecana)
The verse emphasizes that strengthening jaṭharāgni is central to relieving many forms of śūla (colic), especially pain caused by indigestion or improper digestive transformation (pariṇāma).
Alongside spiritual instruction, the text also preserves practical guidance for bodily well-being; here it presents a cūrṇa (powder) aimed at relieving specific pains and correcting digestion, reflecting a dharmic approach to health maintenance.
Use the principle: many chronic abdominal pains worsen when digestion is weak—so prioritize diet discipline and digestive support; for actual medicines, consult a qualified Ayurveda practitioner rather than self-prescribing.
