Inauspicious Omens and Arjuna’s Return from Dvārakā
vilokyodvigna-hṛdayo vicchāyam anujaṁ nṛpaḥ pṛcchati sma suhṛn madhye saṁsmaran nāraderitam
This verse shows Yudhishthira noticing Arjuna’s loss of radiance and becoming anxious, recalling Nārada’s earlier words—an omen that points toward Lord Krishna’s departure from the world.
Because Arjuna’s unusual, joyless condition signaled a grave change; Yudhishthira remembered Nārada’s indication of impending events and therefore inquired publicly among trusted well-wishers.
Notice spiritual and emotional warning signs in yourself and others, and seek truthful counsel from well-wishers—especially when life’s support systems shift—while remembering guidance from saints and scripture.
