Uddhava’s Counsel: The Jarāsandha Resolution and Kṛṣṇa’s Arrival at Indraprastha
श्वश्र्वा सञ्चोदिता कृष्णा कृष्णपत्नीश्च सर्वश: । आनर्च रुक्मिणीं सत्यां भद्रां जाम्बवतीं तथा ॥ ४१ ॥ कालिन्दीं मित्रविन्दां च शैब्यां नाग्नजितीं सतीम् । अन्याश्चाभ्यागता यास्तु वास:स्रङ्मण्डनादिभि: ॥ ४२ ॥
śvaśṛvā sañcoditā kṛṣṇā kṛṣṇa-patnīś ca sarvaśaḥ ānarca rukmiṇīṁ satyāṁ bhadrāṁ jāmbavatīṁ tathā
姑(しゅうとめ)に促され、ドロウパディーは主クリシュナの妃たちすべてを礼拝した――ルクミニー、サティヤバーマー、バドラ―、ジャンバヴァティー、カーリندی、シビ王家のミトラヴィンダー、貞節なるナーグナジティー、そして同席していた他の王妃たちも。彼女は衣服、花輪、宝飾などの贈り物で皆を敬った。
Because Kṛṣṇa’s queens are His intimate associates; honoring them is proper dharmic etiquette and an expression of devotion and respect for the Lord’s family.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī speaks this verse to King Parīkṣit while narrating Kṛṣṇa’s visit to Indraprastha and the interactions with the royal household.
