Balarāma Humbles the Kurus and Rescues Sāmba
yasya pāda-yugaṁ sākṣāc chrīr upāste ’khileśvarī sa nārhati kila śrīśo naradeva-paricchadān
This verse states that Śrī (Lakṣmī), the supreme goddess of fortune, personally worships the Lord’s lotus feet—showing that all prosperity is under His control and offered to Him in devotion.
Because the Lord is Śrīśa, the master of Lakṣmī; since the source of all opulence already serves Him, offerings of worldly royal paraphernalia cannot increase His greatness—though they may purify the giver.
Offer your resources with humility, but remember that God is not dependent on wealth; use prosperity as service (seva) and cultivate detachment from status and display.
