Varṣā-Śarad Vṛndāvana-Śobha: The Beauty of the Rainy and Autumn Seasons in Vraja
gopa-vṛddhāś ca gopyaś ca tad upākarṇya vismitāḥ menire deva-pravarau kṛṣṇa-rāmau vrajaṁ gatau
It says the elder gopas and the gopis, upon hearing certain news, were amazed and concluded that Krishna and Balarama were foremost among divine beings who had come to Vraja.
They were astonished because what they heard revealed extraordinary, godlike qualities and actions, leading them to recognize Krishna and Balarama as supremely divine.
It encourages attentive hearing (śravaṇa): by sincerely hearing about Krishna, faith deepens and one naturally recognizes the Lord’s presence and guidance in one’s life.
