Dhaumya said: “There is, higher even than heaven and utterly pure, the horn (a special wind-instrument) belonging to the Trident-bearing Lord (Śiva). A mortal who beholds that sacred object—known by the Lord as His own—attains Śiva’s city. The verse frames devotion and holy sight (darśana) as a transformative act: contact with what is supremely pure and divine is said to lift a human being beyond ordinary mortality toward the Lord’s abode.”
धौम्य उवाच
The verse teaches that reverent encounter with what is supremely pure and divine—here symbolized by Śiva’s own sacred viṣāṇa—can elevate a mortal beyond ordinary destiny, leading to Śiva’s abode. It emphasizes the salvific power of devotion and darśana.
Dhaumya is describing a sacred, exalted object associated with Śiva, said to be higher than heaven in purity and status. He states that a mortal who beholds it attains Śivapura, presenting a pilgrimage-like promise of spiritual reward.
