Vaiśampāyana said: “Lotus-eyed Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) and Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) have remained together through three ages. Nārada too knows them in this very manner, and he repeatedly spoke to me in praise of this truth.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the timeless, dharma-sustaining bond between the divine guide (Kṛṣṇa) and the righteous hero (Arjuna). Their companionship is portrayed as enduring across ages, and its remembrance—affirmed by Nārada—serves to strengthen faith in divine support for dharma.
Vaiśampāyana reports a traditional affirmation: Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna are known as inseparable companions across three yugas, and the sage Nārada recognizes and praises this fact, often speaking of it to the narrator.
