Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
पुष्करे तु कुरुक्षेत्रे गड़ायां मध्यमेषु च । स्नात्वा तारयते जन्तु: सप्तसप्तावरांस्तथा,पुष्कर, कुरुक्षेत्र, गंगा तथा प्रयाग आदि मध्यवर्ती तीर्थोमें स्नान करके मनुष्य अपने आगे-पीछेकी सात-सात पीढ़ियोंका उद्धार कर देता है
puṣkare tu kurukṣetre gaṅgāyāṃ madhyameṣu ca | snātvā tārayate jantuḥ saptasaptāvarāṃs tathā ||
Pulastya said: By bathing at Puṣkara, at Kurukṣetra, and in the Gaṅgā and other central sacred fords, a person becomes a means of deliverance—raising and redeeming seven generations before and seven generations after himself.
