Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas

Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana

प्रदक्षिणमुपावृत्य ज्येष्ठस्थानं व्रजेन्नर: । अभिगम्य महादेवं विराजति यथा शशी

pradakṣiṇam upāvṛtya jyeṣṭhasthānaṁ vrajen naraḥ | abhigamya mahādevaṁ virājati yathā śaśī ||

Having circumambulated in reverence and then turning back, a man should proceed to the foremost (most honored) place. Approaching Mahādeva (Śiva) in this manner, he shines with auspicious radiance—like the moon in the sky. The verse underscores that disciplined, respectful approach to the divine and to sacred spaces elevates one’s inner and outer dignity.
