Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas

Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana

रूपस्यथ भागी भवति सुभगश्च प्रजापते । राजन! वहाँ ब्रह्मर्षि संवर्तकी दुर्लभ बावली है। उसमें स्नान करके मनुष्य सुन्दररूपका भागी और सौभाग्यशाली होता है

Pulastya uvāca: rūpasyātha bhāgī bhavati subhagaś ca prajāpate. rājan! tatra brahmarṣi-saṃvartakī durlabhā bāvalī asti. tasyāṃ snātvā manuṣyaḥ sundara-rūpasya bhāgī saubhāgyaś ca bhavati.

Pulastya said: “Thereafter, O king, a person becomes a sharer in beauty and also fortunate, by the grace of Prajāpati. In that place there is a rare step-well called Saṃvartakī, associated with the brahmarṣi Saṃvarta. By bathing in it, a human being attains handsome form and good fortune.”
