Ghūlastya said: “It purifies one’s lineage up to the seventh generation—of this there is no doubt. O best of men, a pure and self-controlled person who goes to the sacred ford called Brahmayoni and bathes there attains the world of Brahmā; and along with himself he sanctifies seven generations of his family—there is no uncertainty in this. Then, O king, you should proceed to a pilgrimage-ford renowned throughout the three worlds: the celebrated Pṛthūdaka, associated with Kārttikeya. Having bathed there, remain devoted to worship of the gods and the ancestors.”
