Chapter 82
Ādityā vasavo rudrāḥ sādhyāś ca samarudgaṇāḥ | gandharvāpsarasaś caiva nityaṃ saṃnihitā vibho ||
O mighty one, at Puṣkara the Ādityas, the Vasus, the Rudras, the Sādhyas together with the hosts of Maruts, and also the Gandharvas and Apsarases are ever present. The passage underscores Puṣkara’s sanctity as a perpetual meeting-place of divine powers, implying that acts of pilgrimage, restraint, and reverence performed there gain heightened moral and spiritual weight.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches the exceptional sanctity of Puṣkara by portraying it as a place of constant divine presence; therefore, dharmic conduct—pilgrimage, worship, self-restraint, and truthful living—performed there is understood to yield amplified spiritual merit.
A speaker (here attributed as Ghūlastya) describes Puṣkara as a supremely holy tīrtha where multiple classes of gods and celestial beings are perpetually assembled, thereby praising the site and encouraging reverent pilgrimage.
