नलस्य विवस्त्रीकरणं दमयन्ती-सहानुगमनं च
Nala’s Disrobing and Damayantī’s Companionship

एवमुक्ते तु कलिना प्रत्यूचुस्ते दिवौकस: । अस्माभि: समनुज्ञाते दमयन्त्या नलो वृत:
Transliteration
evam ukte tu kalinā pratyūcus te divaukasaḥ | asmābhiḥ samanujñāte damayantyā nalo vṛtaḥ ||
Translation
When Kali had spoken thus, the gods replied: “With our consent granted, Nala has been chosen by Damayantī.” In this moment the divine order affirms the legitimacy of her choice, placing her agency within the bounds of sanctioned dharma and foreshadowing Kali’s resentment at being thwarted.
