युधिछिर उवाच एवं करिष्यामि यथा ब्रवीषि परां बुद्धिमुपगम्याप्रमत्त: । यच्चाप्यन्यद्रेशकालोपपन्नं तद् वै वाच्यं तत् करिष्यामि कृत्स्नम्,युधिष्ठिर बोले--विदुरजी! मैं उत्तम बुद्धिका आश्रय ले सतत सावधान रहकर आप जैसा कहते हैं वैसा ही करूँगा। और भी देश-कालके अनुसार आप जो कर्तव्य उचित समझें, वह बतावें। मैं उसका पूर्णरूपसे पालन करूँगा
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: evaṃ kariṣyāmi yathā bravīṣi parāṃ buddhim upagamya apramattaḥ | yac cāpy anyad deśa-kālopapannaṃ tad vai vācyaṃ tat kariṣyāmi kṛtsnam ||
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “I shall do exactly as you say, adopting the highest discernment and remaining ever vigilant. And whatever further duty you judge to be fitting to the place and time—please tell me that as well; I will carry it out in full.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Dharma is to be practiced with the best discernment and constant vigilance, and applied according to circumstances (deśa-kāla). Right action is not merely rule-following but wise, context-sensitive obedience to sound counsel.
Yudhiṣṭhira responds respectfully to counsel, pledging to follow the advisor’s instructions fully and requesting any additional guidance that suits the situation of time and place.
