दिव्येभ्यश्वैव भूतेभ्यो ये चान्ये परिपन्थिन: । आप बड़े भाईका आदर करनेवाले हैं, उनकी आज्ञाके पालक हैं। भरतश्रेष्ठ! मैं आपकी शान्तिके लिये वसु, रुद्र, आदित्य, मरुदगण, विश्वेदेव तथा साध्य देवताओंकी शरण लेती हूँ। भारत! भौम, आन्तरिक्ष तथा दिव्य भूतोंसे और दूसरे भी जो मार्गमें विघध्न डालनेवाले प्राणी हैं, उन सबसे आपका कल्याण हो
divyebhyaś caiva bhūtebhyo ye cānye paripanthinaḥ |
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “May you be safe from celestial beings and from all other beings who might obstruct the path. Because you honor your elder brother and obey his command, I invoke for your peace the protection of the Vasus, Rudras, Ādityas, Maruts, the Viśvedevas, and the Sādhyas. May there be well-being for you against earthly, atmospheric, and heavenly forces, and against any other creatures that cause hindrance on the way.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Respect for elders and obedience to rightful instruction are presented as virtues that invite auspicious protection; the passage frames safety and success as supported by dharmic conduct and by invoking benevolent divine guardians against obstacles.
