Yudhiṣṭhira said: “Armed with bow, clad in armor, and bearing a sword, live like a sage—steadfast in a righteous vow. Giving no one an opening or passage for attack, go, dear one, toward the northern direction.”

Educational Q&A

Maintain disciplined restraint even while armed: combine the warrior’s preparedness (bow, armor, sword) with the sage’s ethical vow, and proceed without offering an adversary an opportunity for aggression.

Yudhiṣṭhira instructs a dear companion to travel north, equipped for danger yet committed to ascetic-like conduct—silent, steady in vows, and tactically careful not to provide an opening for attack.
