Yudhiṣṭhira said: “When that (sacred knowledge/mantra) is properly applied, the entire world becomes clearly illumined and seen as it truly is. Therefore, dear one, being endowed with that Brahman-knowledge and firmly collected in mind, seek in due course the favor of the gods.”

Educational Q&A

Right application of sacred knowledge (mantra/vidyā) brings clarity of perception—seeing the world as it truly is—and this requires inner composure (susamāhita). Spiritual efficacy is linked to correct practice and disciplined attention, not mere possession of words.

Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a companion (affectionately ‘tāta’), urging him to be united with Brahman-knowledge and remain concentrated. In the surrounding instruction (as reflected in the accompanying Hindi), this counsel extends toward disciplined austerity and a regulated course of action aimed at gaining divine favor.
