Vaiśampāyana said: When Bhīmasena had spoken thus, the brāhmaṇas, bestowing their highest blessings, and having taken leave of those Bharata-descended heroes, departed each to his own home. The scene underscores the ethical bond between kṣatriya protectors and brāhmaṇa elders: counsel is received with humility, blessings are granted in goodwill, and the social order is affirmed through respectful permission and orderly departure.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic conduct in social relations: wise elders offer blessings, and warriors receive counsel respectfully; departures occur only after proper leave is granted, reinforcing mutual honor and orderly community life.

After Bhīmasena speaks, the assembled brāhmaṇas bless the Bharata-lineage heroes (the Pāṇḍavas), take formal permission, and then return to their respective homes.
