Shloka 40

एवमुक्तस्तदा भीमो यक्षेणामिततेजसा । अनुक्त्वैव तु तान्‌ प्रश्नान्‌ पीत्वैव निपपात ह,अमिततेजस्वी यक्षके ऐसा कहनेपर भी भीमसेन उन प्रश्नोंका उत्तर दिये बिना ही जल पीने लगे और पीते ही मूर्च्छिंत होकर गिर पड़े

evamuktas tadā bhīmo yakṣeṇāmitatejasā | anuktvaiva tu tān praśnān pītvāiva nipapāta ha ||

Thus addressed by the Yakṣa of immeasurable splendor, Bhīma—without answering those questions—drank the water nonetheless; and as soon as he drank, he collapsed, senseless. The episode underscores that strength and impulse, when unchecked by restraint and right conduct, lead to immediate downfall.
