अनुक्त्वा च पिबन प्रश्नान् पीत्वैव न भविष्यसि । यक्ष बोला--पार्थ! इस प्रकार प्राणियोंपर आघात करनेसे क्या लाभ? पहले मेरे प्रश्नोंका उत्तर दो, फिर जल पीओ। यदि तुम प्रश्नोंका उत्तर दिये बिना ही यहाँका जल पीओगे, तो पीते ही मर जाओगे
Transliteration
anuktvā ca piban praśnān pītvāiva na bhaviṣyasi |
Translation
The Yakṣa said: “If you drink without first answering my questions, you will not live after drinking. O Pārtha, what gain is there in striking at living beings in this way? Answer my questions first; then drink the water. If you drink the water here without replying, you will die the moment you drink.”
