Vaiśampāyana said: Kuntī would present to him everything he asked for as though it had already been prepared in advance. With great self-control, she remained constantly engaged in his service—like a disciple in obedience, like a son in dutiful care, and like a younger sister in respectful attentiveness—embodying disciplined devotion and propriety in conduct.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic conduct expressed through disciplined service: true devotion is shown by readiness, humility, and self-restraint, adapting one’s attitude to what the situation ethically requires—obedience like a disciple, care like a son, and modest respect like a younger sister.

Vaiśampāyana describes Kuntī’s behavior toward a respected male figure: whatever he requested, she promptly provided as if already prepared, and she continually attended to him with exemplary restraint and propriety.
