Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dhārmic social conduct: one should behave appropriately toward every group—servants, friends, relatives, and elders—maintaining goodwill and propriety so that relationships remain harmonious and protected.

Vaiśampāyana reports a speaker praising a young woman’s consistent, fitting behavior toward all around her—including attendants, kin, and motherly elders—and toward the speaker himself, emphasizing her ability to win hearts through respectful conduct.
